Metering Europe 2011
Metering Europe 2011
Co-located with:
Smart Homes 2011

Full conference programme available!

The 3 day conference programme will be addressing the following themes:

  • Smart metering in the EU – analysis of the current status and review of future deployment plans:
With the 3rd Energy Package well under way, it will be interesting to review what progress has been made by the different members states so far. What is the status of the EU regulatory framework in terms of standardization, data privacy and interoperability? There will be a core focus on what is required to create a EU level playing field

  • Smart metering projects:
With many utilities completing their pilot projects and/or starting the deployment process, the attention now shifts to key issues of designing your business case, executing your roll-out plan, operational challenges ahead, along with analysis of the future energy landscape demands

  • Next generation architecture:
A smart meter is only effective if you have future proof communication architecture in place. Implementing this means overcoming several testing and pilot processes, reviewing technology which fits the project best, analyzing your security system and achieving a global architecture, linking all elements together

  • Data management:
Managing a massive volume of data generated by smart meters is one of the key challenges data managers are facing. The first step goes back to the question: how do I create valuable data and ensure an interoperable system? Nevertheless it all begins with the creation of the data, followed by the key question; how to manage all this valuable information and the data lifecycle. Smart meters create very valuable information with the potential to improve the overall business process

  • Customers represent the biggest challenges of smart meter deployment:
How to get customers accepting a smart meter?  What does the customer exactly want? How can we actively engage our customers in the process? These are the key questions in order to achieve customer participation and a successful smart meter deployment programme.  The smart meter will do more than the stimulation of energy efficiency, by effective billing and pricing you will be able to increase your revenue collection process as well.  Make sure your deployment strategy boosts the relationship between you and your customer, do not miss out on the potentials!

As you can see the 3-day conference will be packed with interesting topics, discussions and interactive sessions.  Over 100 speakers will share their visions and perspective on the future outlook for the metering industry.
